Shindig 2021: An Evening in the Garden
Each year in September, we hold our annual fundraising event, the Shindig, to ensure we can maintain and grow our youth programs. In recent years, volunteers, donors, and other friends of the Sanctuary have gathered at the Garden Club of Jacksonville, a beautiful location in historic Riverside. Shindig offers a casual atmosphere, where guests can catch up over food and drink provided by local businesses, participate in a silent auction, and learn about what has been happening at the Sanctuary over the past year, as well as what's upcoming. This year, we will be returning to the Garden Club after hosting a virtual event from the Marina at Ortega Landing last fall. The gardens will be open, weather permitting, for guests to enjoy the fresh air. We are asking guests to please wear a mask while indoors. For those who are unable to attend, we will be sharing a recap of event highlights on our Facebook page. The Shindig is made possible thanks to the generosity of the Delores Barr Weaver Forever Event Fund.
