Since 2020, our Weekend Nutrition Program has been a source of support at the Sanctuary on 8th Street, especially during the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to the Romay Davis Belonging, Inclusion and Diversity Grant from Southeastern Grocers and teaming up with the Jacksonville Junior League's Fresh Minds Program, we've been providing essential groceries to families on various weekends each month. The impact of this program has been truly significant within our Sanctuary community. Families have expressed immense gratitude for the support, but we recognize that food insecurity remains a pervasive issue, affecting the lives of many of our youth and their families. Acknowledging this ongoing challenge, we introduced our Weekend Nutrition Program: Bags of Hope Sponsorship Initiative. Our vision for the Bags of Hope Sponsorship Initiative is simple yet powerful, we want to make sure every Sanctuary youth and their family take home bags of groceries every single weekend of the month. This commitment means expanding our impact, so our families don't have to choose between putting food on the table and meeting other basic needs over the weekend. Hunger should never be a roadblock to a child's potential or a family's well-being. Join us in nourishing futures, one weekend bag of hope at a time!
